Though Denny Sanford lived a life of success, his goal was to live a life of significance by helping others through philanthropy. He did. By investing billions of dollars in the causes and organizations he believed in, he left the world a better place.
At the time of his first gift to Sioux Valley Hospitals and Health System in 2004, Denny had already given millions of dollars to children’s causes. But his pledge to help build a Children’s Hospital in Sioux Falls began a commitment to health care philanthropy that lasted the rest of his life.
